Juanita Jamison was a painter who was born in Kirksville, Missouri. She graduated from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College with a bachelor's of science. She also attended the University of Chicago, Fine Arts Academy at Northwestern University and the School Applied Arts. She studied under Walter Sargeant, Ernest Watson, Harry Jacobs, and Pedro Lemos. Jamison worked as a Superintendent of Art in Kirksville, Missouri, in the 1930s and also in Burlington, Iowa. She was a member of the Board of Art Association and participated in several exhibitions in Iowa winning an award in the Iowa Art Salon exhibition in 1936.
