Gertrude Yates Young was born on August 12, 1904 in Springfield, Missouri. She attended Drury College in Springfield, Missouri, and graduated in 1927. Then she attended Kansas City Art Institute. She exhibited at Park College in Parkville, Missouri, Kansas City Art Institute, Springfield Art Museum, the Iowa Art Salon, and New Ocean House Hotel in Swampscott, Massachusetts. Her work can be found in the Drury College’s art collection. She died on August 20, 1993 in Tallahassee, Florida.
