In her home she had 150 of her own oil paintings. Bryant was known for her portraits, including self-portraits. She owned two Pekingnese dogs who were subjects in her paintings.

Florence was also a singer and took lessons with German opera singer Ernestine Schumann-Heink, who was a guest at Bryant’s home in 1928. Florence also played the piano.

During the 1930s, Florence exhibited her paintings in the Midwestern Artists’ Exhibition at the Kansas City Art Institute, and with the Kansas City Society of Artists.

She was active in civic groups as well, including the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Friends of Art, and the Woman’s City Club, and she was a trustee of the Liberty Memorial Association.
