Matthew W. Washington was born in October 1886 in Dallas, Texas. Around 1925, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Washington’s photographic studio was located at 2303 Flora in his home. Washington developed photographs there for twenty-five years. Subjects included families, individuals, and group portraits. Washington died on May 21, 1965.
