Mary Elmira Savory was born in New York circa 1855. It is unclear when she moved to St. Joseph, Missouri, but she was active there in the 1870s and 1880s. She held various roles working with Rudolph Uhlman, a photographer, as a photographic artist and retoucher at a photograph gallery that was located at various locations during the time she was active.
